Jim Rohe A self taught singer and storyteller, Jim
has been a construction worker, roofer, short-order cook, dishwasher,
truck driver, and foreman. In 1987, as the father of two young
children, Jim discovered storytelling and his true calling. This
led to Gentle Rhythms, an ongoing program of music
and story for young children which now operates in a number of
school including the Clendinning School in Nutley, Over the Rainbow
in Montclair, the Childrens Day Nursery in Passaic, the
Early Learning Center in Fairfield, Small Wonders in Passaic,
the Garbrellian Childcare Center in Hackensack, and East Orange
Head Start.
Jim has performed in Tellabrations from 1995 to
the present and has been a featured teller at the MAST Gathering
(Mid-Atlantic Storytelling Festival) in Pennsylvania. His programs
for K12 combine story and song. Jim is a seasoned performer
who appears before audiences more than 250 times a year. His rapport
with his audience makes each program a special event.
