Elementary School

Storytelling Arts Elementary School programs continue to build upon early childhood literacy skills by providing the opportunity to listen to stories, retell, dramatize, draw, write, and discuss. Through storytelling, students will start to bridge the understanding between oral and written communication. Storytelling also incorporates a social component through the use of multicultural folktales and expands awareness and tolerances of cultural diversity within the classroom and the outside world. Children will also continue to build self-esteem and use stories to develop problem-solving skills for conflict resolution.
Storytelling Arts has conducted long-term programs in public schools in Trenton, Paterson, Morristown, Roselle, and Keansburg.
Storytelling taught me….
· Never to give up and give it your best shot.
· That I’m better than I think I am
· That you should trust yourself
· About how I can be funny without getting made fun of
· That I can be braver and stronger and not scared
