Juvenile Justice Program

Storytelling for this environment focuses on helping listeners explore creative expression as storytellers and writers, fostering the growth of personal confidence and the appreciation of that growth in others. Through the use of multicultural stories, listeners can learn to relate effectively to others as well as develop viable alternatives to destructive behavior. By actively participating in the story, listening and literacy skills are strengthened as well as problem-solving techniques for conflict resolution.
Storytelling Arts has led storytelling sessions at the Mercer County Youth Detention Center.
