For Teachers

Storytelling Arts, Inc. offers professional development for
teachers at all levels throughout New Jersey. Educators can be
trained to integrate the skills of storytelling into their
instruction of language arts furthering their students
understanding of a particular subject or topic while creating a
bridge between oral and written language. Storytellers will
work, in cooperation, with the teachers within the classroom and
help to further their ability to use stories to create a
learning environment that is conducive to their students needs.
We also design and provide storytelling residencies for students
from preschool through high school, including programs for
low-income, special needs, and at-risk students. In these
programs professional storytellers offer exemplary models as
they introduce students to the art of storytelling, cultivating
a deep appreciation for learning and literature.
