Building Community Consciousness Through Storytelling
Sharing stories--folklore and personal stories--connects us to one another in meaningful and long-lasting ways. Through discussion of stories we can learn to both express ourselves and listen to one another. This workshop demonstrates how stories can lead our students towards a more meaningful and responsible community.
We recommend two hours for this workshop. It supports core curriculum content standards in language literacy (3.1 and 3.2).
