Bring the 21st Century Into the ELL Classroom with Storytelling

Julie Della Torre will present Storytelling in the ELL Classroom at the 2010 NJEA Conference on Thursday, November 4, at 1:00pm.

Stories are a unique tool for teaching global awareness and how a student fits into the culture of the world community.

Here is a creative and unique way to provide opportunities for communicating thoughts and past life experiences and for critically responding to the opinions of others.Participants will creatively listen to and discuss stories from diverse cultures. A portion of the session will be set aside for developing collaborative and creative solutions to the challenges of bringing oral discussion, literacy and cultural diversity, to the ELL classroom.
